Hello. Welcome to The Big Sky Lodge. We are so glad you are considering our cabin in your vacation plans. Our goal is to provide an optimum vacation experience. In 2011 we discovered the Blue Ridge Mountains and the town of Black Mountain, North Carolina. As avid hikers who enjoy fly fishing and the outdoors, we quickly became smitten with the area and began looking for land. We have a fascination for log cabins (two of my sibs live in log cabins) and so in 2015 we found the land in Catawba Falls Preserve and began the cabin construction, with home completion in 2016. A large part of the enjoyment that we get from our cabin is hearing the experiences that our guests share with us. So when you view our cabin, imagine all these experiences, including the birthdays, anniversaries, honeymoons, and wedding proposals that we have been told took place in our cabin. We had guests share their first experiences seeing a black bear in the wild, of white water rafting, fly fishing and zip lining while staying in Big Sky Lodge.
